Attorney General is a political position. In federal government the United States Attorney General is the head of the Department of Justice and the chief lawyer of the US government. He oversees all federal prosecutors, known as Assistant US Attorneys In March 1921 new President Warren G. Harding appoints Harry Daugherty as Attorney General. Alexander Mitchell Palmer held the position when the series begins in January 1920.
