Why You Need Motivation EVERY Morning
It was happening to me again…
I just laid there. Still. Mind racing, but body stagnant. The battle had begun…
Should I wake up and work out/send emails/write a new article/do anything mildly productive, or should I surrender to just one more hour of sleep.
On most days, this wouldn’t be a battle. I am better than that.
But even the mightiest success chasers need new sources of motivation every once in a while.
You see, most of us are indeed crazed to succeed, and rarely need any external pushes to get ahead. We are intrinsically motivated beasts 99.99% of the time, but one day (or week, or month…don’t judge) there will come a time where you everything will seem gloom, the important goals you’ve set for yourself become less noticeable than an ex…

Season 5
HBO has as ever released a number of cool posters for the fifth season so I though I'd highlight what I've found here. We've likely all seen the main one sheet which is currently heading up our Season 5 article but there are a bunch of others out there too.
First up are eight character posters, mostly for starring cast members with a single exception - Anatol Yusef's Meyer Lansky makes the grade. I'm amazed he is not yet in the starring cast at this point. Notable by their absence are Nucky, William, Van Alden, Mickey and Margaret.
Season 5 Boardwalk Empire Party Menu
The last season of Boardwalk Empire is finally here. Celebrate our favorite crime lords by making this Boardwalk Empire inspired menu for your friends and family while you watch the next episode. Enjoy!
Oysters and champagne anyone? Nucky loves oysters on the half shell. Serve up these high class appetizers on some ice with a squeeze of lemon and even a kick of wasabi if you're up for a little surprise.
Boardwalk Empire is set in Jersey, so think Italian for your main course. This Spaghetti Bolognese is a classic Italian dish that will wow your guests (even the Italian crime boss, Joe Masseria, would have been impressed).
Serve up a meaty, bloody steak that the Boardwalk Empire crime bosses would dig into. This steak is soaked in their favori…

What I know about Boardwalk Empire
What I know about that show is that it's been set in the 1920s, and it's a good show I haven't seen before.
Boardwalk Empire to end after Season 5
Yahoo published an article close to an hour ago (albeit short), that HBO is planning on ending BE's run after 5 seasons.
I'm not alone in the opinion that the show is quite good (obviously), but I guess it makes some sense to end while still popular after five seasons and not need to go on for longer than that. Atlantic City tends to become less of the central location for bootlegging at and after 1925 (which is likely when Season 5 takes place), and many of the main characters are no longer based in AC by the end of season 4.
What's your opinion on the matter?
Season 4 premiere reactions
We're back!!
All in all, I felt like it was a solid premiere. Not as shocking or dramatic as we've seen in past episodes, it picked up 8 months after the chaotic season 3 madness. The writing seems to be slowly easing us into a storyline for this season, rather than jumping right into the deep end. This is fine, I mean there's no need to show all your plot cards at once, but I can help feeling a tiny bit unsatisfied after such a long wait. Still, that just means there is more to come, and the season probably won't peak too early.

Boardwalk Empire Season 4
Great news, Boardwalk Empire fans, the hit show on HBO has been renewed for a fourth season!!
The network announced that the show "will continue Nucky Thompson’s story in 2013." Makes sense that they would renew the show since Boardwalk Empire recently received four Emmy awards, even though it lost the big drama category to Showtime’s Homeland. Also, last Sunday’s episode was seen by 2.6 million viewers for its debut airing!

Top 10 list: Current cable dramas
Game of Thrones is leading the voting at the time of writing with my single solitary vote but any of you discerning viewers who have an opinion are more than welcome to join in. I have illustrated the list with up to date poster art for all of the series I included so I think it makes for an interesting scroll through too. --Opark 77 (talk) 12:37, September 8, 2012 (UTC)
The Age of Reason review
This week’s episode of Boardwalk Empire, “The Age of Reason”, puts us viewers at about halfway through the season. It felt very much like a mid-point episode. The main conflict of the season is the political coup against Nucky and Jimmy solidified his existing alliances and made an important new one in this episode. I think that the deal Jimmy makes with Luciano and Lansky gives the season a lot of momentum going forward and it has me excited to see what will happen.
It was interesting contrast to see Jimmy endearing himself to a new mentor in Whitlock, a new partner in Horvitz and then forging his new alliance with other ascendant criminals from New York. Nucky meanwhile continues to drive away his allies and old enemies harass him. He is …

- Chalky's world will be threatened by a KKK attack.
- Margaret will deal with with her son's disciplinary problems.
- Van Alden will celebrate his anniversary with Rose.

Boardwalk Empire season 2 trailer
HBO has just released the first trailer for the upcoming second season of Boardwalk Empire. It features the corrupt treasurer Enoch "Nucky" Thompson (played by Steve Buscemi) as he walks down the boardwalk among the other (surviving) characters of the show. Any idea who might be whispering to him at the end of the trailer? Tell us in the comments!
Boardwalk Wins Golden Globes
Just in case you missed it last night, Steve Buscemi stole the Best Actor nod from Mad Men's Don Draper, Jon Hamm, finally killing their incessant winning streak! I'm so excited! Plus Boardwalk won for Best TV Drama against some stiff competition including Dexter, The Good Wife, Mad Men, and The Walking Dead. Its so great to see Boardwalk getting some love! What did you think of the Golden Globes last night?
Too Short
HBO TV shows are too short! They always end just when they are starting to get good...then we have to wait a year before we can see more (if they renew the show, that is)! Of course, I shouldn't complain to much considering the other show I'm watching, The Walking Dead, is half the length (ONLY 6 Episodes!!). Luckily, HBO has already announced that there will be a second season of Boardwalk!
What did you think of the first season of Boardwalk Empire? Did any of your favorite characters change? Are you excited for the second season or are you just biding your time until something "better" comes on? Are you excited for any other HBO shows? (I can't wait for Game of Thorns and the new season of True Blood!)
Loose Jimmy
Who cut his hair? He looks like he is trying to mimic Shemp Howard (the Three Stooges) and his hair style. Further, Michael Pitt acts like he is trying to mimic the "acting" style from Charlie Hunnam (Jax from Sons of Anarchy). The character, Jimmy is awkward and feels almost as if its an afterthought. In real life some one like Nucky wouldn't jeopardize his empire with a loose cannon like this. A man like this is unpredictable and unreliable. After blowing the deal with Rothstein, he would have been discovered in a fishing net and it would have been Nucky who gave the order. As it stands it doesn't reflect well on Nucky to be associated with a bum like this.
Where are all the Boardwalk Lovers? :(
I can't believe there is no love for Boardwalk! Its so great! Come back Boardwalkers!
I think my favorite character so far is Richard Harrow. He is so intriguing and different. I havn't seen the new episode yet so don't tell me if anything bad happens to him :( I'm always worried with HBO that my favorite characters will get killed off (see True Blood: Gram and Eddie in the first season). Who is your favorite so far?
Agree Miss Jewel
A I agree with you, I love the show. Not as good as True Blood but just as sexy. Waiting to see what will happen between Margret ant Nunck. Whooo last scene was somthing can't wait until next week.
Agreed!
I know its not "True Blood", but this is a dang good replacement while it's off air!!!!LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
love, Love, LOVE this show!!
Thank you HBO for giving me something to take my mind off True Blood on Sunday nights!! Incredible casting, writing, acting, set design, costume design, everything! Couldn't be happier with this show, and having Scorsese direct the pilot was a wonderful bonus treat. :) The word is that HBO ordered a second season as soon as the pilot had a successful airing, so - more to come!
