D.W. Fletcher, played by co-star Henry Stram, is a supporting character in "Belle Femme". He is a Democrat politician and is running for Atlantic City Mayor in 1920. He positions himself as a reformer and criticizes the Republican incumbent Harry Bacharach for his ties to racketeering. His attacks are effective but do not win him the election because the Republican's have Bacharach stand down so that untarnished construction magnate Edward Bader can run in his place.
