Edward McGinty is an American actor. He plays Al Boyd in Boardwalk Empire. He is a co-star the first, second, and third seasons. McGinty is also the head historical researcher and consultant for the series.

Edward McGinty's grandfather was the head bellman at the Ritz Carlton when Enoch L. Johnson, the historical figure that serves as inspiration for the show's main character Nucky Thompson, lived there, and in his old age went fishing with Jimmy Boyd, an underling of Johnson after whom the characters Al Boyd and Jimmy Darmody are named. McGinty's father also worked at the Ritz as a page boy.
