Graves, played by co-star Christian Kauffmann, is a supporting character in "Hold Me in Paradise". He is a Chicago judge and has previously worked in Ohio. He is a regular customer at the Four Deuces brothel owned by Johnny Torrio. Torrio procures African American prostitutes specifically for Graves. In June 1920 he Torrio introduces him to Atlantic County Treasurer Nucky Thompson who asks him for background on Ohio politician Harry Daugherty. Graves is positive about Daugherty. The brothel's Madam, Regina, ends their conversation by telling Graves that Belle is ready to see him.
