The Meuse-Argonne Offensive was one of the final Allied offences on the Western Front during World War One. Lasting 47 days (September 26-November 11th, 1918), it was one of America's largest offensive moves spanning three phases, involving over a million US soldiers.

Days after the  Battle of Saint-Mihiel, it was also one of the bloodiest battles that America participated in; with 26,000 killed and 90,000 wounded. It was during this battle that Jimmy Darmody had his right leg severely injured by a German frag grenade.
