Sophie Tucker, played by co-star Kathy Brier, is a supporting character in "Belle Femme". The character is based on the historical figure of the same name. She is seen performing at Babette's Supper Club while Nucky Thompson has dinner there. She entertains the crowd with jokes and a rendition of "Some Of These Days". The real Tucker (January 13, 1886 – February 9, 1966) was a Russian/Ukrainian-born American singer and actress. Known for her stentorian delivery of comical and risqué songs, she was one of the most popular entertainers in America during the first half of the 20th century. She was widely known by the nickname "The Last of the Red Hot Mamas."
