Just read this: http://www.examiner.com/article/michael-pitt-will-briefly-return-for-boardwalk-empire-season-3

So not only is Jimmy still somehow in S3, but played by Pitt himself!Eljuma (talk) 19:24, September 8, 2012 (UTC)

Dream sequence? Oh, no, just read through and apparently it is archive footage - nothing new has been shot. Still good that his presence will be felt though.--Opark 77 (talk) 14:20, September 9, 2012 (UTC)

Jimmy expelled?Edit

Was Jimmy actually expelled? In s2e11, Under God's Power She Flourishes, when his mother asks him how badly he beat his teacher, he says, "Enough to get me expelled" (as mentioned on the Gillian Darmody Season 2 page). But is it mentioned elsewhere that he actually was expelled? The morning after he and Gillian commit incest it appears that he makes his decision to enlist. I suppose he could have been expelled in absentia…  insomniii (talk) 01:35, February 17, 2013 (UTC)

I think it is clearly stated in the same episode that Nucky could intervene to keep him in Princeton.Reasno 杰诺斯·史林特 23:21, February 17, 2013 (UTC)
I'm inclined to think that he wasn't precisely for this reason. In his conversation with Daugherty before the golf course, Nucky is oblivious to the reasons why Jimmy left. He doesn't bring up a perfect illustration of why Jimmy can't be trusted, i.e., that he turned against and literally beat the crap up of his teacher once. Instead, his rationalization is that Jimmy left college because he could not handle it. This means that Nucky never knew about the fight with the teacher, and means that the college never knew either and did not expel Jimmy accordingly (otherwise, Nucky would have known about it). Why? I suppose we'll never know, since Jimmy is no longer part of the show, but in my mental canon it's becuse Prof. Pearson declined to identify him as his agressor and never filled a complain against him. Perhaps, because he was himself ashamed of his own behaviour around Gillian. Besides, since Jimmy left to join the army immediately his expulsion became a moot point anyway.Eljuma (talk) 23:56, February 17, 2013 (UTC)
That explanation makes a lot of sense, Eljuma. Reasno, Gillian says that in the same scene; actually, it's the line after "Enough to get me expelled," and I wouldn't take that as an indication of what actually happened. Eljuma's explanation seems correct. I modified the summary of this page, eliminating the part about Jimmy being expelled.insomniii (talk) 03:27, February 18, 2013 (UTC)
